The January 2025 edition of MGA Times brings excitement and key information in the run-up to the MGA Annual Conference, taking place over two packed days on 11th and 12th February in Shepton Mallet, Somerset. With a strong speaker line-up, farm tours, and over 20 trade exhibitors, this is set to be one of the MGA’s biggest events to date. The issue outlines everything attendees need to know, including schedules, speaker bios, locations, and ticket links.

Day one features a visit to the South West Dairy Development Centre and a tour of Steanbow Farms, showcasing innovative, sustainable farming practices. Day two takes place at the Bath and West Showground, offering presentations from respected industry figures, including Becky Willson (Farm Carbon Toolkit), Jack Harris (FieldCraft Technologies), and Max Hetto (German sustainable farmer).

Topics range from carbon capture, precision weed control, AI soil analysis, to UK policy, seed dressing, and MGA trials updates.

The MGA is also running a Photo Competition with a £500 seed prize sponsored by Grainseed. Members are invited to submit photos of their best cover cropping and undersowing efforts, with the winner announced at the conference.

Additionally, the MGA introduces new and returning speakers and sponsors, including Vaderstad, Samco, and Mole Valley. Full details are provided for ticket booking via Eventbrite, and members are encouraged to secure their place early.

Whether you're a maize grower, agronomist, or adviser, this edition offers a comprehensive guide to getting involved with the MGA’s flagship event of the year.
